Calibration levels
Element Metech is an independent provider of metrological confirmation, calibration, and repair of measuring instruments. We handle most measurement quantities and brands on the market and perform calibration either in our accredited laboratories or directly on-site at your facility.
We are certified according to ISO 9001, and our accredited laboratories are accredited by the national accreditation bodies in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. Our services support you in meeting the requirements for calibration and maintenance of your measuring instruments, providing metrological confirmation in line with ISO 9000 and ISO 100121.
Accredited calibration
For those who require measurement data and confirmation that the instrument complies with its specification. This service provides internationally recognized calibration in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025, fulfilling all relevant requirements in ISO 9000, ISO 10012, and IATF 16949:2016.
Metrological confirmation through:
- Calibration in an accredited laboratory and verification that the instrument complies with the specified requirements.
- Adjustment when the instrument does not comply with the specification, where appropriate and possible.2
- Calibration certificate issued by an accredited laboratory, including a statement of conformity or non-conformity with the specification and measurement results with associated measurement uncertainty for all measurement points.3
- Archiving of calibration certificates and measurement data for all points for six years.
- Sealing and labeling with calibration label.
Traceable calibration
For those who require measurement data and confirmation that the instrument complies with its specification. This service provides traceable calibration that fulfills relevant requirements in ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9000, and ISO 10012.
Metrological confirmation through:
- Calibration and verification that the instrument complies with the specified requirements.
- Adjustment when the instrument does not comply with the specification, where appropriate and possible.2
- Calibration certificate with a statement of conformity or non-conformity with the specification and measurement results with associated measurement uncertainty for all measurement points.3
- Archiving of calibration certificates and measurement data for all points for six years.
- Sealing and labeling with calibration label.
Measurement points are selected based on relevant national or international standards and/or the manufacturer’s performance test or equivalent. Calibration normally covers the full specification of the instrument but can be tailored to your needs.4 If no specification exists, the instrument is calibrated at selected measurement points and measurement data is presented.
The measurement procedures and equipment used are selected to provide a measurement uncertainty less than one third of the specification and to ensure traceability to the International System of Units (SI), where possible.
If the instrument does not comply with the specification after normal adjustment and requires more extensive adjustment or repair, you as the customer will be consulted before any further actions are taken.
(1) The final assessment of whether the instrument fulfills the requirements for its intended use must be made by the customer.
(2) You may choose not to have the instrument adjusted, for example for reference standards where historical stability is important. The instrument is then delivered without adjustment, regardless of whether it complies with the specification or not.
(3) When an adjustment is performed, measurement data is presented both before and after the adjustment for the relevant measurement points.
(4) By full specification we mean all relevant parts of the instrument’s specification. For accredited calibration, if our accreditation does not cover all parameters of the instrument, the calibration is supplemented with non-accredited measurements so that the full specification of the instrument is covered.
