What is optical calibration?
It means adjusting and verifying an optical measuring instrument to ensure it measures accurately. Examples include power meters, spectrum analyzers, and reflectometers. You receive documented calibration results with measurement uncertainty and traceability.
Why is it important to calibrate optical measuring instruments?
To avoid incorrect measurements that can lead to quality issues, production downtime, or safety risks. It’s also often a requirement in certified quality management systems.
What is the difference between traceable and accredited calibration?
Traceable calibration follows references to national or international standards. Accredited calibration is performed by a laboratory approved according to ISO/IEC 17025 – with higher requirements for methodology, documentation, and independence.
Can you calibrate optical instruments on-site?
