Optical instruments

Ensure reliable optical measurements with traceable and accredited calibration, optical calibration is essential to maintain high accuracy in optical signal measurements. In industries like telecom, medical technology, and research, precise optical data is key to quality, safety and performance.
Our offer:

Accurate measurement results for optical instruments

We provide both traceable and accredited optical calibration for a wide range of measuring instruments either in our accredited laboratories or directly on-site at your facility. All calibrations are performed according to international standards and adapted to the specific requirements of your industry. Typical areas for optical calibration include:

  • Telecommunications and fiber optics
  • Medical applications
  • Research and development
  • Light measurement and photonics

Ensuring reliability in optical measurements

We calibrate a wide range of optical instruments from different manufacturers and models. Examples of optical instruments we calibrate

  • Optical attenuators
  • Optical reflectometers
  • Optical power meters
  • Optical spectrum analyzers
  • Optical sensors
  • O/E converters
  • OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers)
  • LED transmitters
  • Wavelength meters
  • Optical test units

Calibrate to reduce measurement uncertainty

Regular calibration of optical instruments reduces the risk of measurement errors, production disruptions, and data deviations. A correctly performed optical calibration ensures that your measurement values consistently meet the highest standards.

  • Verification and adjustment of measurement accuracy
  • Calibration of attenuation, power, and wavelength
  • Documentation of measurement uncertainty
  • Calibration certificate with full traceability

What is optical calibration?

It means adjusting and verifying an optical measuring instrument to ensure it measures accurately. Examples include power meters, spectrum analyzers, and reflectometers. You receive documented calibration results with measurement uncertainty and traceability.

Why is it important to calibrate optical measuring instruments?

To avoid incorrect measurements that can lead to quality issues, production downtime, or safety risks. It’s also often a requirement in certified quality management systems.

What is the difference between traceable and accredited calibration?

Traceable calibration follows references to national or international standards. Accredited calibration is performed by a laboratory approved according to ISO/IEC 17025 – with higher requirements for methodology, documentation, and independence.

Can you calibrate optical instruments on-site?

Yes, in many cases. We offer on-site calibration for instruments that are sensitive or difficult to transport. Contact us to see if this is possible for your equipment.
