Element Metech’s new mobile calibration laboratory is ready to hit the road, providing Swedish industrial customers with fast and reliable instrument calibration directly on-site. The inauguration took place on September 4 at Element Metech’s calibration lab in Gothenburg.
Instrument calibration is a crucial part of product and service quality assurance. Whether in manufacturing or research and development, it is essential that the instruments used deliver accurate measurements and are reliable.
Now, Element Metech, experts in metrology with its Swedish headquarters in Linköping, has launched its second mobile calibration laboratory. The mobile lab is a specially equipped truck with power quality monitoring and control of temperature and humidity. Pre-start preparation for reference instruments, as well as climate regulation during transport, minimizes setup times and enables customers to have their measuring equipment calibrated directly on-site. The solution is highly time-efficient. Jenny Bylerius, Site Manager at Element Metech’s calibration laboratory in Gothenburg, explains:
“We know that some customers need their measuring instruments daily. That’s why we created this capacity on wheels. We go to the customers and ensure the least possible downtime. With our new mobile calibration lab, we can quickly deliver quality-assured calibrations“ says Jenny Bylerius.
On September 4, Element Metech inaugurated its second mobile calibration laboratory in Gothenburg. Curious visitors were given the chance to see what the lab looks like inside, as well as demonstrations on how instrument calibration works and why it is important.
“We were met with great engagement and many visitors. It was fantastic to see!“
The lab supports calibration of high-frequency measuring instruments and has the capacity for tasks such as network analysis up to 50 GHz. Major customer groups include sectors such as electronics, defense, and medical technology. The mobile lab will now follow a scheduled route across Sweden but can also deviate to carry out special assignments.
“Our first trips are already planned, and we’ll soon be making a long journey up to northern Sweden. For me, it is especially rewarding to get direct contact with our customers and to see more of our beautiful, elongated country“ says Tony Åström, one of Element’s calibration technicians.
